I am a nature photographer, birder, and outdoorsman. My main photographic interests are wilderness landscapes and wildlife and my photographs have been shown in galleries in Texas, New York City, Los Angeles, the Washington D.C. metro area, and on fine art websites like The Photo Review.

I shoot digitally and also with film, color slide and black and white in particular, including with 35mm, medium format, and 4x5 and 8x10 large format cameras. I enjoy practicing traditional darkroom techniques, especially printing large format negatives with silver chloride papers, and I have experience with a wide variety of alternative processes and applications, like anthotypes, lith printing, gold toning, pinhole photography, and infrared photography.

I’m a native Texan but have lived for years each in the Balkans, India, the Caribbean, and Micronesia. I am currently based in Washington D.C. My very favorite places for photography and for hiking, birding, and exploring are: anywhere in Alaska, Far West Texas, and the Himalayas. These disparate areas have at least a few things in common: mountains, quietude, and fresh air.

All of the images on this website are available as inkjet/giclee prints, framed or unframed, and for license in digital and print publications. Many of my black and white photographs can also be printed by hand, as fine art contact prints or in enlargement.

I am particularly interested in working with wildlife biologists and conservation groups to contribute photographically to research, fundraising efforts, or general appreciation about nature. My main photographic goal is to portray the natural world beautifully, in all of its complexity.

Thank you for visiting.
